YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Mohd Ismail Che Rus assumed the role of Chairman and Director on the board of Perwira Bintang Holdings Sdn Bhd in 1998. His distinguished academic journey includes studies in Combat Techniques at JWW Canungra, Queensland, Australia, Training Management at the Royal Institute of Public Administration, London, UK, Senior Management (postgraduate) at the University of Manchester, UK, and Crisis Management/International Negotiation at the Police Academy (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.

Commencing his professional journey with the Royal Malaysia Police as an Inspector in June 1962, Tan Sri Dato' Mohd. Ismail's career trajectory was marked by progression through various roles, culminating in his appointment as Chief Police Officer for three significant regions in Malaysia: Kelantan, Johor, and The Metropolitan Police of Kuala Lumpur. His tenure encompassed the rank of Commissioner of Police, during which he also held the position of Director of the Criminal Investigation Department before retiring.

The nation and the Police Force bestowed upon him well-deserved recognition for his dedicated service. His honors include Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), Johan Mangku Negara (JMN), Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN), Panglima Gagah Pasukan Polis (PGPP), and Panglima Setia Pasukan Polis (PSPP) by DYMM SPB Yang Dipertuan Agong. He was also decorated with state awards including Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT - Perak), and Panglima Taming Sari (PTS - Perak). His contributions garnered numerous Letters of Commendation and Letters of Appreciation from both public and private sectors.

Engaged in various social roles, Tan Sri Dato' Mohd Ismail Che Rus is the President of the Retired Senior Police Officers' Association in Malaysia and holds the position of President in the S1T1 62 Group.
